Charlyn Marie "Chan" Marshall, better known as Cat Power, pursues the slinky Hi Records sound of the '70s - folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between -with a sensuous feel and beguiling rhythms such as Memphis horns, funky string arrangements and smooth background vocals.
